I’m so happy to share that my work has been includ I’m so happy to share that my work has been included in the Woman Made Gallery exhibition, a Chicago-based exhibition celebrating women artists and exploring the many dimensions of women’s experiences.

It feels especially meaningful to be part of an exhibition centered on women, with each work offering its own perspective on womanhood, identity, relationships, and lived experience.

The work included in the exhibition is deeply personal to me. It reflects on womanhood and motherhood, and the complex, intimate relationship between a mother and child—the ways we carry our mothers within us, and how becoming a mother can transform the way we understand our own.

I’m grateful to Woman Made Gallery for creating a space where these stories and experiences can be brought together and seen through so many different voices.

Thank you for including my work in this beautiful exhibition. 🤍

The double windows and fire escapes of New York ke The double windows and fire escapes of New York keep finding their way into my paintings.

There’s something beautiful about these repeated structures—each window almost identical, yet every one holds a completely different life.

I’m trying to capture that tension between order and unpredictability, architecture and emotion.

Work in progress.

What if a painting didn’t just ask you to look at What if a painting didn’t just ask you to look at it—but asked you to look into it?

Lately, I’ve become fascinated by reflective surfaces. Not mirrors that hide what’s beneath them, but surfaces that let you see through layers of paint while reflecting your own presence at the same time.

Every time I stand in front of this piece, I see something different. I see myself. I see the layers underneath. I see the hanging tree. Memories, light, and reflections begin to merge, and I find myself standing there, thinking about my life for much longer than I expected.

That’s the experience I’m searching for—creating spaces that invite contemplation, where what you bring to the work becomes part of the work itself.
Elio means sun—light, warmth, joy, energy, and new Elio means sun—light, warmth, joy, energy, and new beginnings. 💛

Looking at him in his little yellow outfit today, I couldn’t help but think how perfectly his name fits him.

When he was born, our world changed in ways we never expected. Learning that he has Down syndrome came with so many unknowns, so many fears, and so many questions. But alongside all of that, he has brought something even bigger.

He has brought us so much joy. So much light. He reminds us every day to celebrate the smallest moments, to slow down, and to see the beauty that’s already here.

My wish for him is that he always experiences the brightness his name carries—that his life is full of love, warmth, wonder, and possibility.

Our little sun. ☀️💛

There’s something both exciting and unsettling abo There’s something both exciting and unsettling about beginning a new body of work. The first layer always feels like a leap into the unknown.

Today I started a painting that will eventually become one continuous piece across four panels. At its center is a deep blue form that, to me, resembles an embryo—fragile, full of potential, suspended within fields of red and orange. Whether that image remains visible in the end almost doesn’t matter.

This is only the beginning.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll build layer upon layer, allowing transparency, chance, and intention to interact until the work finds its own language. I never know exactly where these paintings will end up—that uncertainty is part of why I paint.

I’m looking forward to seeing where this one takes me.
A little while ago, I had the opportunity to sit d A little while ago, I had the opportunity to sit down with my dear friend Oxana for a conversation about motherhood, art, and the emotional journey of becoming both a mother and an artist navigating this new chapter. The interview is part of her beautiful project exploring the experiences of artist mothers, including the challenges of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Looking back, I’m so grateful for this conversation. It gave me space to reflect on my own experience in ways I hadn’t expected, and it continues to stay with me.

It also makes me smile that Elio was with me in the studio that day—a little reminder of how closely my art and motherhood are intertwined.

A heartfelt thank you to Oxana for creating this thoughtful project and for inviting me to be part of it, and to my wonderful friend Natalie for being there and helping make it all happen.

I’m happy to share a little piece of it with you. ❤️
I lived in a dysfunctional family, groups of frien I lived in a dysfunctional family, groups of friends, country, and among dysfunctional region of the world.

Dysfunctional togetherness.

The longing to belong is my story.

The desperate need for loved ones to simply gather around one table and share a meal.

To let kindness flow like a refreshing breeze and wash away all the bitterness.

And failing to experience it, again and again.

I have had loved ones be mean and never see it.

Our need for togetherness is sometimes overwhelming and so strong.

People can be cruel. They can be shortsighted. They can die and leave us all alone.

That’s part of the experience of living for me, and I’m sure for many others.

And that is what I am exploring in my new series: Togetherness.
In this recent body of work, I create reflective s In this recent body of work, I create reflective surfaces over portraits, landscapes, and other imagery. As viewers approach the work, their own reflection becomes layered into the image, blurring the boundary between observer and subject.

I am interested in how our sense of self is shaped through our relationships with others. How much do we need one another to understand who we are? How much does it hurt when the connections we long for are absent, fractured, or unable to hold us in the ways we hope?

The reflective surface invites viewers to see themselves within the work and to consider their own experiences of connection and belonging. It is a reminder that we are never entirely separate from one another; our identities are formed through countless encounters, relationships, and shared moments.

If we are fortunate, we find a few people in our lifetime with whom we can be fully ourselves—people who reflect us back without judgment, people in whose presence we feel seen. Those rare connections can become a place of gathering, a place where we discover and rediscover who we are.

This work is an exploration of that longing: the desire to be recognized, understood, and connected.#painting #jerseycityartist #togetherness #relationship #us
